The present article proposes to adopt a psychodynamic approach to study the resilience tutors of children in foster care from the perspective of attachment theory. It highlights the complexity of the relationship between the child and the family caregiver as an alternative attachment figure, a tutor of potential resilience. This thinking focuses on the practice of a clinical psychologist working in foster care. The theoretical-clinical articulation resulting from this clinical experience provides the basis for an analysis of the potential resilient effects that professionals have on the experience of children in foster care in terms of the process of securing the child’s sense of safety through the quality of professional caregiving. It thus raises the question of the complexity of this interactive relational dynamic and the danger that lies in the risk of excessive use of this notion of tutor.
